Friends of ANLC is a nonprofit organization that supports Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center's teachers and students. Parents and guardians of ANLC students are automatically members of Friends. No dues or registration are required.
We meet monthly- generally the third Tuesday of the month - from 6 to 7 pm in the school Library.
We work with ANLC's teachers and administration and sponsor several activities and events during the school year, including Exploration Friday, Art Masterpiece, Scholastic Book Fairs, Family Nights, First Day Welcome Reception, Garden programs, Teacher and Staff Appreciation events, and Night of the Arts.
We support our teachers by funding a teachers' retreat and classroom supplies and by organizing a First-Week Transportation program. We assist our school nurse with an annual Health Fair and Screening.
We raise money through a Fall Fundraiser, Used Book Sale, Harkins Movie Night, and Carnival & Silent Auction, as well as through escrip, Box Tops/Soup Labels for Education, Cartridges for Kids, and Spirit Wear. Our volunteers represent you at meetings of ANLC's Think Tank (our site council), the Arts in Education Council, Arcadia Pride, the Scottsdale Parents Council, the Scottsdale Prevention Institute, and Scottsdale Supporters of the Gifted.
We keep our families and friends informed and in touch through the school newsletter, emails, directory, and this website, which contains our meeting agendas and minutes.
And we need you! Please consider stepping forward to volunteer or to head up a Committee. It's rewarding and fun!
